London Interior Design Studio
The room that has been waiting.
Tell me about your roomMost rooms in a home are defined by what they do. The bedroom sleeps. The kitchen cooks. The study stores the things you keep meaning to sort. They serve a function, and they do it quietly, without asking anything more of themselves or of you. But somewhere in most homes there is a room that could do something else entirely. A room that could serve a feeling.
OPIA Studio is a London-based design practice that works on one room at a time. That focus is deliberate. It allows for a depth of attention that broad interior projects rarely permit. We are not here to refresh your whole house. We are here to transform one space into something that holds you, moves you, and belongs entirely to you. The work is sensory, collaborative, and deeply personal. The result is a room that knows who you are.
The process begins before any design decisions are made. Through a guided Discovery Session, we explore what you actually want from this room. Not the version you think you should want. Not the version that photographs well. The version that makes you want to close the door and stay. That conversation is the foundation of everything that follows, and it is available as a standalone experience in its own right.
A 90-minute paid workshop with Hanya Stanbury. Through structured conversation and reflective exercises, we explore what this room could mean for you. What it should feel like to enter. What it should allow you to do or be. This is not an intake form. It is the work itself beginning.
Available as a standalone experience.A collaborative, sensory-led design process that draws directly from what emerged in your Discovery Session. We work through materials, colour, light, texture, sound, and scent. Every decision is tested against the feeling we are trying to build. Nothing is chosen for appearance alone.
The transformation. Your room, realised. We oversee the full delivery and remain involved until the space is exactly what it was always meant to be. The measure of success is not aesthetic. It is whether you walk in and feel something shift.
Most interior design begins and ends with how a room looks. OPIA Studio begins with how it feels. Each of the five senses is a design tool, and we use all of them.
Light is not decoration. It is the first thing a room says to you. We design for how light moves through a space across a full day, and how colour behaves within it.
Whether your room needs to hold music or hold silence, we treat acoustics as fundamental. The sound of a space shapes how long you want to stay in it.
Materials are chosen for how they feel as much as how they look. The weight of a curtain, the grain of a surface, the warmth of a floor underfoot. These things register before conscious thought does.
Scent is the most direct route to memory and emotion. We consider the olfactory character of a room from the materials inward, and can design scent intentionally into the space.
Taste shows up in materials you bring to your mouth, in the rituals a room is designed for, and in the memories that certain textures and colours carry. It is the most intimate sense, and the most overlooked in design.
You have a room that has been a dumping ground for three years and you know, without any doubt, that it could be something.
You want a space that is entirely yours. Not a room that looks like a magazine. A room that looks like you.
You are building a life that reflects who you actually are, and one room is the next honest step.
You have thought about this room for longer than you care to admit, and you are ready for someone to take it seriously with you.
The Discovery Session is a 90-minute paid workshop where we explore what this room could become for you. It is led by Hanya Stanbury and takes place either in person in London or remotely. You do not need to have any design ideas prepared. You only need to bring the room, and yourself.
There is no commitment beyond the session itself. Many clients find that the Discovery Session alone gives them something they did not expect: clarity about a space, and about themselves.
